Bali is an amazing location, so much history, a must see for any travel fan. Every day in Bali’s predawn darkness, hundreds of visitors begin the trek up the 1,700-meter summit of Mount Batur to watch the sun rise above the lush mosaic of mist-shrouded mountains and the caldera far below. This sacred active volcano lies in Kintamani District in Bali’s central highlands, about an hour’s drive from Ubud, and the hike to the summit to watch the sunrise has long graced the list of top things to do in Bali. The hike along the well-marked trails is relatively easy and usually takes about two to three hours. Guided treks typically include a picnic breakfast, with eggs cooked by the steam from the active volcano. On a clear day, the views are spectacular, stretching all the way across the Batur caldera; the surrounding mountain range; and beautiful Lake Batur, the island’s main source of irrigation water.
If Gili T is too busy for your tastes, you’ll feel much more at home on Gili Meno. The smallest of the three islands, Gili Meno attracts an older, more upmarket crowd. It’s the one you’ll want to spend the most time on if you’re on your honeymoon. The beaches are stunning (and more consistent than the other two islands) and there are some cool places to eat and drink. Again, there’s not much to do but that’s kind of the point. Located in southern Bali, Nusa Dua is a lovely beach resort with a stylish and sophisticated vibe. Couples can fall under the area’s spell while making many happy memories together. The soft sands and clear waters are ideal for lazy beach days and swimming in the refreshing sea, and nearby attractions include temples, unusual natural features, viewing points, museums, a golf course, and shopping centres. There’s definitely enough to keep you busy in Nusa Dua!
You can dive all around the island of Bali but if you want to try wreck diving then you will need to come to Tulamben. Here you will find the wreck of the USAT Liberty which was sunk here in the Second World War and this is one of the most famous wrecks in the world. You can expect to find a huge number of underwater creatures here as well as colorful fans and there is also a larger coral garden that lies close to the USAT Liberty so that you can check out both spots at the same time.
