San Francisco church and its monastery are most famous for their catacombs containing the bones of about 10,000 people interred here when this was Lima’s first cemetery. Below the church is a maze of narrow hallways, each lined on both sides with bones. In one area, a large round hole is filled with bones and skulls arranged in a geometrical pattern, like a piece of art. If Mass is in progress upstairs, the sound reverberates eerily through the catacombs. Visiting these is not for those who are claustrophobic, as ceilings are low and doorways between chambers are even lower, requiring people to duck when entering. But the catacombs are at the end of a tour of the church, so you can skip them. There is much more to see here. The library, on the upper level, has thousands of antique books, and the monastery has an impressive collection of religious art. It is best known for a mural of the Last Supper showing the apostles dining on guinea pig, with a devil standing next to Judas. The San Francisco church and monastery were consecrated in 1673 and it is one of the city’s best preserved colonial churches, having withstood the earthquakes of 1687 and 1746, although it did suffer extensive damage in a quake in 1970.

Mardan Palace in Turkey: Nothing beats having served by a personal butler 24/7 when you check-in at this palace. Aside from sizzling weather and hospitable people, relaxing here makes you feel great. The palace was built in 2009 costing around $1.65 billion. Astonishing gold-leaf interior design and marble floors from Italy made it totally awesome! A quiet alternative to San Francisco’s busy downtown hotels, the luxurious Inn Above Tide is within walking distance of the shops, restaurants, and ferry in quaint, ritzy Sausalito (the scenic ferry ride to the city takes about 30 minutes). The 31 sophisticated rooms here have sweeping bay views and most come with patios overlooking the water. While there’s a spa, free breakfast, and free wine and cheese receptions, its lack of a pool and an on-site restaurant may deter some visitors.

In Italy, you can stand in an ancient cave-turned-wine-cellar and taste wine with roots dating back to the Roman Empire. Your handcrafted Piedmont Italy tour of wine and truffles takes you around Piedmont, filling each day with the sumptuous flavors of the region, from food to history. The eclectic aromas of the Truffle Festival mix with the enthusiastic calls of the crowd, each person aching to taste the unique concoctions created simply for the event. A sea of vineyards traipses over the hillside and the pleasurable flavors of the countryside can be as rich or delicate as an award-winning restaurant in the city.

There’s also popular Hampstead Heath in the northwest, one of the city’s most-loved green spaces, which boasts great views. There are swimming ponds to cool off during summer and plenty of space to stretch out. It might seem odd to visit London and spend your time in a park, given there are parks and green spaces right across the world. I did not appreciate how valuable proximity to green spaces would be until I had been in London for several months. When it is a nice day, these spaces really come alive, as people from all walks of life enjoy them peacefully together. The novelty of walking barefoot across the grass and grabbing a cheeky nap in the sunshine after a lovely picnic lunch is one of my favorite things to do on a nice day.

Helicopters in the UK operating for our helicopter charter service are well regulated with sensible safety rules. Our helicopters can pretty much access to every large and small airport within the UK and many in close proximity to Europe. There are some notable exceptions like London City airport where they ban helicopters due to noise. There are also specific heliports, the most well known is London Battersea Heliport. Helicopters can also use private sites subject to our pilots conducting a risk assessment and judging them as safe operating landing sites. This generally does not require a visit. But the Helicopter comes into its own when you can fly from your property to the centre of London for example. Discover even more information at https://www.charter-a.com/.
