There are three kinds of mats that will best serve your home or office complex during the winter season. We do not use longer bristle fibres in the production of coir matting, but they are often used in agriculture to stabilise soil, protect vegetation, and prevent erosion. This means that the fibres we do not use to manufacture the mat are being used in other processes and not being discarded. As a rule, we do not recommend using PVC backed commercial coir matting in an outdoor setting where it could get very wet. The PVC backing prevents the water from running away and could cause the matting to become waterlogged and rot. If you need your coir matting for an outdoor setting, we can put holes in the backing to allow water to run away but we do not recommend this for the reasons above.
